Boat Ride
Pacific Whale Foundation Description
Maui's top-rated Whalewatch Eco-Adventures take whale enthusiasts out to sea on power catamarans with expert marine naturalists. Kids will love the hydrophones that let them hear the whales, as well as the Junior Naturalist program. And whale sightings are guaranteed -- or you get a "Just a Fluke" coupon that lets you go again for free. "Whale Search Cruises" (another tour offered by the Pacific Whale Foundation) don't offer the same guarantee, but you'll still enjoy a relaxing two-hour ocean cruise with an expert naturalist, with whale sightings being quite common.
Kid Tips
Babies: Babies are free and will respond well to the fresh air and the rocking motion of the boat.
Toddlers & Pre-K: The under 6 crowd is free and will love the boat ride. Bonus points if they actually see a whale!
School-Age Kids: Good luck getting the hydrophones away from this crowd - the only thing better than seeing a whale is hearing one.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Young adults will love the ocean cruise, and seeing a whale will make it even better.
Planning Notes
- Bring supplies. You'll need a camera, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, and cash for snacks and souvenirs.
