Princeville Ranch Zipline Adventures Description

Unlike other outfitters on Kauai, children as young as 5 years old (if they weigh at least 65 pounds) can participate in ziplining at Princeville Ranch Adventures, which also offers kayaking and hiking tours on 2,500 acres of privately owned land on Kauai's North Shore. The Jungle Valley Adventure has a 400-foot zipline. The "Zip 'n Dip" tour (for children ages 12 and older) is 4.5 hours long and includes a moderate hike, the thrills and chills of nine ziplines and a suspension bridge, a catered picnic lunch, and swimming in a pristine swimming hole. The guides, who crack silly jokes the whole time, will also tell you fascinating information about Kauai's plants and animals.

Kid Tips

School-Age Kids: Children 5 and older can go on the Jungle Valley Adventure and the Kalihiwai Falls Hike as long as they are in good enough physical condition to keep up.

Pre-Teens & Teens: Children younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult on all the tours. Those 16 and older may go on these tours alone after a parent or guardian signs the requisite waiver forms.

Planning Notes

  • Check the Web site. There are myriad instructions about how you should dress and what you need to bring depending on the tour.
  • Bring a camera or a hand-held video recorder. To capture the action as you dangle and zip through the air.
  • Expect to be weighed. The weight requirements are for safety and each tour participant will be weighed in before the tour begins. If you weigh too much or too little, you will not be allowed to go.
