Mokupapapapa Discovery Center Description
This educational museum, which is free and open to the public, teaches children (and adults) about marine life and geology in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. There's lots here to keep little ones engaged, including underwater movies about Hawaiian turtles, fish, sharks, and other marine animals; a mock submarine that kids can go aboard; and a small aquarium with a coral reef showcasing bluespine unicorn fish ("It looks like a man, Mommy!"), yellow tangs, raccoon butterfly fish, convict surgeonfish, and more.
Kid Tips
Babies: There's a changing table in the women's bathroom. Ask for the key at the front desk.
School-Age Kids: Head to the back lefthand corner to watch the engaging documentary films that are best for this age group.
