Georgia Aquarium Description
The Georgia Aquarium bills itself as the largest aquarium in the world. We're not sure about the largest, but it's definitely huge and filled with jellyfish, otters, penguins, sharks, electric catfish (they're blue!), red piranha, white belugas, and every other swimming life form you can imagine. It's divided into five disconnected areas, including the Georgia Explorer, which has touch pools and a play structure. Kids will like walking under a plexi-glass tunnel where the fish swim over you. It's such a fun experience that your kids will be sprinting from one exhibit to the next.

Kid Tips
Babies: They'll be mesmerized by the belugas and their graceful swimming. They seem to smile at you as they swim by!
Toddlers & Pre-K: Don't be surprised if your little ones are more interested in the climbing structure in Georgia Explorer than in the fish.
School-Age Kids: The touching pools where you can pet a stingray and nurse sharks are a favorite, as is the penguin tank where younger kids can crawl into a glass dome and stick their head into the tank. For fish buffs, the aquarium offers a behind-the-scenes tour (ages 10 and up).
Pre-Teens & Teens: Older kids will like contemplating life and looking at the whale sharks and hammerhead sharks in the Ocean Voyager Theater (it's like a live movie).
Planning Notes
- Double your fun. Combine it with a visit to the New World of Coca-Cola or Imagine It! since they're all in the same area. Consider going to one in the morning, having a picnic outside, and visiting the other in the afternoon.
- Dress kids in bright colors. The aquarium's a very large and spread out place, so dress kids in bright colors to more easily keep track of them.
