Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris Description
When you step into Disneyland's central plaza — where you can choose to head to Main Street, Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland or Discoveryland — you enter an American world of magic and wonder with a playfully French twist. There's something exotique and wondiferal about seeing Goofy and Mickey Mouse greeting wide-eyed children in French (they speak English, too). The ambience is magical, the rides are thrilling or tame to suit the age of your children, and the only downside is you'll want to stay longer but still have enough days leftover to visit Paris.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Kids love "it's a small world" so much they'll want to go on it again and again and again. Other good rides for younger kids include Pinocchio's Fantastic Journey and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Older kids will lose their stomachs and their voices (from screaming) on the dark and twisty Space Mountain and on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril.
Planning Notes
- Use Fast Pass if it's crowded. This free service assigns you a time to come on the ride, lets you enjoy something else in the meantime, and bypass the crowd when the time comes.
- Buy tickets on-line. You can get discounts and avoid the lines at the entranceway if you purchase your tickets in advance at the Disneyland Paris Web site.
- Take the Eurostar from London. As hard as it is to believe, you can take the Eurostar directly from London's Waterloo Station into the Disneyland Resort! More information and tickets at the Eurostar Web site.
- Take the RER. The RER is a pleasant train ride from Paris (it takes about an hour, depending on where you get on). The park is also accessible by car (Exit 14 off the A4 highway) and TGV from Charles de Gaulle, which takes only 10 minutes.
- Get there when it opens. The best way to beat the crowds (and make the most of your day) is to arrive at the park when it opens and head for the attractions you want to visit that are farthest away from the entrance.
