Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park Description
Disney's Animal Kingdom is like no other Disney World theme park. For starters, there's the pace: it's slow. With 1,500 animals spread over a vast "wilderness," it's designed for ambling through. Stop and admire the regal tigers in Asia, talk to the birds in the Oasis, and marvel at the artwork on the trunk of the man-made Tree of Life® attraction. Lands are set in lovely sun-baked "villages" that encourage you to stop and smell the roses. Not that it's all quiet time -- faux wildlife provides for some adrenaline-rushing fun, like creepy-crawlies on the hilarious "It's Tough to Be a Bug!®" attraction and the menacing Yeti of the park's only coaster, Expedition Everest -- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain® Expedition Everest® attraction.

Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Just right for little ones wanting a hands-on experience is the Affection Section, the park's petting zoo.
School-Age Kids: Kids will dig the Boneyard® Dig Site, where they can burrow for fossils and see how big dinosaur bones really are.
Planning Notes
- Plan ahead. Map out the rides and attractions you want to see. Take advantage of the Fastpass® service for the "must do" rides to save time.
- Go early. Disney's Animal Kingdom closes earlier than other parks -- usually 5 or 6 p.m.
