Magic Kingdom Park Description
No doubt it sounds corny, but if fairy tales came true, they would have to look like the Magic Kingdom. Kids are wowed by this living, breathing fantasyland, a place where princesses roam the streets (flowing gowns, tiaras, and all) and pirates actually say "Arrghhh." The rides are the trademark, and most folks are bowled over by the talking birds, the rocket rides, and the animatron-inhabited jungle. But there's something to be said for grabbing some cotton candy, pulling up a chair on Main Street, U.S.A.® Area and just soaking it all in. A day outside of the real world? That's the fairy tale.

Kid Tips
Babies: Head to Toontown, where all of the attractions are designed for little ones. Tiny tots love Barnstormer (a perfect first coaster-type ride), Donald's boat (water fun abounds), and especially Mickey and Minnie's houses (where spying the famous duo is almost assured).
Toddlers & Pre-K: Sure-fire favorites include Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger and zooming around the Indy Speedway. But perhaps the most magical moment of all for toddlers: walking down the Main Street, U.S.A.® area from the park entrance and seeing Cinderella's Castle unfold before their eyes.
School-Age Kids: Those not ready for big thrills will love the Pirates of the Caribbean® attraction and the Haunted Mansion® attraction. They'll also love the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor attraction, an interactive show hosted by Mike Wazowski.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Head for the mountains -- Space, Splash, and Big Thunder.
Planning Notes
- Stake your claim. Make time for a daytime parade and the fireworks show at night. Visitors start lining up well in advance for both. Find a spot early if a front-row seat is important for the parade (prime shady spots can be found under trees and Main Street, U.S.A. shop canopies).
- Take the rail. The Walt Disney World Railroad is a great way to move from one section of the park to another. It's usually not crowded and gives the whole family a chance to sit down and relax while getting a feel for the entire park.
