Fantasmic! Description

The mama of all Walt Disney World shows is a don't-miss. Performed after dark on the River of the Americas, Fantasmic! weaves a tale of Mickey vs. the Wicked Queen from Snow White, told with all forms of special effects and wizardry. The best parts include Tinkerbell projected on a cascade of water and a thrilling duel between Peter Pan and Captain Hook aboard the Sailing Ship Columbia. The grand finale, featuring just about every prince and princess ever drawn, leaves kids wide-eyed.

Planning Notes

  • Call ahead. Times change seasonally, and shows can be cancelled due to weather. Check for information on the way in.
  • Early birds are special. Plan to arrive early as people start saving their spots hours ahead of time.
  • See the second show. During the holidays and peak season, it's usually easier to get a seat during the second showing.

What we loved:
Amazing effects, fireworks, choreography

What we didn't love:
Long wait standing up

My husband raved about this show so we made sure to put it on our To Do list. All the guides are right, there is a SUPER long line to get inside. Its a large outside ampitheater that holds several thousand seats and everyone is trying to get there at the same time that you are. Little kids get cranky and your already sore feet get tired waiting nearly two hours, moving at a snails pace once they finally start letting folks inside. Get a large drink or bottle of water to keep on line with you, and heaven forbid if you need a bathroom break. Someone will always try to start "The Wave" to pass time and the crowd gets into it. Its entertaining to hear the screams from the nearby Tower of Terror. The show is wonderful, telling the tale of Mickeys dream as he sleeps. Its starts out sweet and lovely with images projected into a wall of water and shows some of the classic Disney love stories. Then things turn dark and you see all the Disney villains portrayed which might be scary for little kids. Theres lots of fire, smoke lasers and fireworks as Mickey realizes he is the master of his dreams and triumphs. Mass exodus at the end and its amazing to see how many strollers were parked in the stroller corral! Enjoy the park with light traffic if Happy Hours are in effect. Read More

Lots of cool effects! Mickey gets to be a bada**!
