Tomorrowland Transit Authority Description
It's got nary a drop, zero hairpin turns, and runs at the speed of Small World. Yet, even to thrill junkies, there's something delightfully entertaining about this vintage staple. The elevated rail trip around Tomorrowland® (the track actually goes through a few attractions, like Space Mountain®) is Walt's vision of futuristic travel, complete with conveyer-belt boarding area; sleek, open-air cars; and nifty auto-close doors. Yeah, by today's standards Walt's "high-tech" future is a little, shall we say, retro. But motoring around while listening to the too-cute space-age announcements ("Please keep tentacles inside the vehicle") is a perfectly pleasing part of the futuristic fairy tale.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: Riders get a great view of the inner workings of Space Mountain.® It's a good way to gauge your child's interest in the coaster before waiting in the long line.
Planning Notes
- Enjoy the peace. There's rarely a line, making this ride a perfect place for a brief respite.
- Take a second tour. Like the ride? Ask the attendants if you can stay on and tour again. As long as there's no line, they're often happy to let you do so.
