Dinosaur World Description
Kids don't have to be dinosaur fans to love this small park -- the enormity of the more than 150 life-sized dinosaurs spread throughout the park inspire wonder in visitors of all ages. Budding paleontologists will appreciate the detailed placards next to the accurately-represented dinosaur models, will love getting their hands dirty in the fossil dig and boneyard (where they can help excavate a Stegosaurus skeleton), and can test their sensory skills in the Touch and Tell area.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Head to the playground (adjacent to the front picnic area) when little ones grow tired if older siblings aren't through exploring.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Even those not interested in dinosaurs will be engaged by the dinosaur models for a while if younger siblings are enthusiasts, but skip this venue if your kids are older and not excited by the prospect of seeing a Dilophosaurus.
Planning Notes
- Dig away. The fossil dig (daily at 10:30 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.) is included with admission for kids 12 and youngerthose 13 and older can dig for a nominal fee. Participants may dig for as long as they like, but can only keep three fossils.
- Bring a picnic. Vending machines supply cool drinks, but no food service is offered. Ample picnic tables are available in the front of the park under an awning; head to the caves on hot days for a subterranean lunch at the picnic tables there.
