Cypress Gardens Adventure Park Description
We'd heard that this park is one of Florida's hidden gems, and it truly is. The gardens are breathtaking all year with stunning flowers, beautiful topiaries, and countless butterflies (one 4-year-old boy tried to count them, but there were too many). The garden's water park, Splash Island, is just the right size for preschool kids, with rides they'll be excited to conquer yet not fast or steep enough to frighten them away. Kids (and parents) will be spellbound watching the speeding boats, pyramids of water skiers, and daredevil stunts in the Water Ski Show.

Babies: Take the whole family on the relaxing Citrus Line Railroad, where you'll learn about the history of the park and the beautiful gardens.
Toddlers & Pre-K: The toddler rides in Bugsville are perfectly pint-sized. The Rio Grande Train and the Red Barron plane rides are crowd pleasers.
School-Age Kids: Your little miss will surely want to become a Junior Belle at Kara's Kastle. She'll be transformed into a Southern belle, just like the ones who stroll the gardens wearing hoop skirts and carrying parasols. The 1800s garb will remind you that you're in the South, with a flavor all its own.
Planning Notes
- Transportation is a factor. Cypress Gardens is located in Winter Haven, about 30 to 45 minutes away from Orlando. Some hotels may offer shuttle service; if yours doesn't, rent a car for the day.
- Can you say "captive audience?" The park does not allow outside food or drinks (except for baby food). Food is available for purchase.
- Take advantage of discounts. They have a second-day-free policy -- be sure to exchange your ticket at the end of the day if you can make a return trip.
- Suit up. Bring bathing suits and towels if you plan to venture into Splash Island. Lockers and inner tubes are available to rent.
