Coral Castle Description
To most people, this offbeat attraction is simply massive coral furniture and monuments hand-carved by a Latvian immigrant (who did it for a long-lost love). But for older kids interested in science, Coral Castle is an amazing display of unexplained phenomena, from carver Ed Leedskalnin's ability to lift and move tons of rock without equipment, to his use of magnets that allows a nine-ton coral gate to be moved with a finger push. The best way to experience this attraction is to ask for the site's resident science expert to give you a free tour.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: Older, science-oriented kids will really take to the science tour.
Pre-Teens & Teens: They may be smitten by Ed's monument to his lost teenage love. Science buffs taking the special tour will appreciate the added dimension.
