Science & Nature Museum
Miami Museum of Science and Space Transit Planetarium Description
While it's waiting for the funds to build a new, elaborate building, the museum has beefed up its offerings with films in its 60-foot planetarium, audience participation shows about static electricity, and science demonstrations about making "flubber." With hands-on activities like a catapult, momentum spinning machine, and a toddler-only playroom, younger kids will be intrigued.
Kid Tips
Babies: There's a small zoo out back they might enjoy. Be aware that the pitch-black planetarium may scare them.
Toddlers & Pre-K: The museum's well-suited to this age. Be sure to check out the tunnels and puzzles in the toddler room.
School-Age Kids: The demonstrations will appeal to school-age kids (including having their hair stand on end from static shock). The planetarium show is also a treat.
