Miami Children's Museum Description
Don't be put off by the odd-looking building, with its mouth full of jagged teeth. This 56,000-square-foot museum is actually a great place for kids 10 and under who need a break from the sun or want to run around and play. They can dress like a fire fighter, use a kid-size crane to unload cargo from a pretend freighter, harvest produce and learn how it finally gets to the store, or, best of all, run wild in the central atrium's gorgeous playground.
Kid Tips
Babies: Cool air conditioning and lots of colors and lights will make this a good place for them.
Toddlers & Pre-K: They'll love that many of the hands-on activities are just right for their size.
School-Age Kids: With so many choices, kids 10 and under will think they've found play paradise.
Planning Notes
- The exhibits are bilingual. This is helpful if you're not a native English speaker.
- Food is available. You can get a Subway lunch right in the museum if everyone gets hungry.
- Go in the morning. You'll beat the crowds that come for after-school activities or, on weekends, birthday parties.
