Montrose Park Description
This quiet slice of heaven in northern Georgetown is a great getaway for both kids and adults. Surrounded by woods, the park has two large open field areas, tennis courts, a path for walking, picnic tables and park benches. It has a playground with swings, a jungle gym, and a tiny merry-go-round for toddlers. For dog lovers, there are plenty around to pet and play with. You might even be lucky enough to see an owner throwing a weekend dog birthday party! The park also offers a boxwood maze perfect for a game of hide-and-seek. Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: This park is unusual in that it has equipment for all ages. Little ones love the toddler swings, the slides and the merry-go-round. The playground area is fenced in - perfect for kids who are nervous around dogs or are too young to wander.
School-Age Kids: Older kids prefer the big-kid swings and a challenging jungle gym. For those old enough to be out on their own, there are loads of nooks for digging and playing.
Planning Notes
- Safety notes: There's a nice rubberized surface on the playground to prevent injuries, but the area is not shaded, so the metal slides can get very hot in summer.
- Park on the street: Parking (for two hours) is available on local side streets.
