The Old Stone House Description
Right in the heart of Georgetown stands the oldest building in Washington D.C. — the Old Stone House. Stop by for a quick tour and a perfect reminder of how ordinary Americans lived during colonial times. Inside you'll see a front room which, over the last few hundred years was used by different owners as a hat shop, a clockmaker's shop, and a tailor's shop. Upstairs there's a room with a Rumpelstiltskin-like spinning wheel. The top floor has a kid's room with samples of toys from the old days, and what was quite the luxury at the time — a built-in closet. Outside there's a lovely English-style garden perfect for a picnic or just running around. Be sure to check out our other Georgetown vacation ideas.
