A living memorial, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum teaches adults and children of all ages about confronting hatred, preventing genocide, promoting human dignity, and strengthening democracy.
Planning Notes
- Take it slow: There is a lot to see and some exhibits might be emotioanlly overwhelming. Stop at the visitors center or go to the Web site and pick up a guide.
- Age appropriate: "Remember the Children: Daniel's Story," located on the first floor, tells the history of the Holocaust from the perspective of a young boy growing up in Nazi Germany and is recommended for visitors 8 years and older.
