A living memorial, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum teaches adults and children of all ages about confronting hatred, preventing genocide, promoting human dignity, and strengthening democracy.

Planning Notes

Take it slow: There is a lot to see and some exhibits might be emotioanlly overwhelming. Stop at the visitors center or go to the Web site and pick up a guide.
Age appropriate: "Remember the Children: Daniel's Story," located on the first floor, tells the history of the Holocaust from the perspective of a young boy growing up in Nazi Germany and is recommended for visitors 8 years and older.
