Jack's Boat House Description
How cool is it, says the pre-teen, "that we can be tooling around Georgetown in the morning and then paddling in a canoe in the afternoon?" It's very cool indeed. Jack's Boathouse, in operation since 1954, rents canoes, kayaks, tandem kayaks, and rowboats from a spot right under the Key Bridge in Georgetown. It's pretty low-key -- rent your boat, grab your paddles and life preservers, and head out. Just return the boat by sunset -- and get those kids' arms working.
Kid Tips
Babies: Jack's has life preservers for every member of the family.
Planning Notes
- Picnic alert. Pack food if you'll want to eat lunch during your trip; the Jack's folks sell water and soda, but that's it.
