National Aquarium Description
Little kids love this aquarium because it's small, and therefore perfect for limited attention spans. If your kids like to see the animals being fed, they're in luck here: there's almost always some creature having a meal that you can watch. (If you're really lucky it'll be the weekly alligator feeding.)
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: After your visit, walk the few blocks to the Washington Monument and hang out at the base. If you lie down on the grass with your feet facing the monument, looking up is quite a head trip. (Hint: Lots of fun photo ops.)
Planning Notes
- Ice cream alert. Right across 14th Street is the Ronald Reagan building. This office complex has a terrific food court in the lower level, making it ideal for an inexpensive lunch or ice cream stop.
