Bureau of Engraving and Printing Description
More than one clever youngster has gone through the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's doors and shouted, "Show me the money!" Bear in mind that this is not the same as the U.S. Mint, which makes coins. Here, it's all about the paper money, and on a tour kids can see how bills of all denominations start their lives as blank pieces of paper. The staff will explain some things as you walk down the glass-enclosed corridor and watch the machinery at work, but the tour is self-guided. And no, they don't give out samples.

Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: The Visitor Center may be more fun for the younger set; here, you can even buy mutilated/no-good money. What fun!
Planning Notes
- Be an early bird. You may not want to hear this part, but at peak times (summer), you have to be up with the birds to get in line and get tickets for later in the day. Often, all tickets are gone by 8 a.m.
