U.S. Botanic Garden Description
You'll have to stop your mesmerized child (and maybe even yourself) from reaching for a take-home souvenir: the flora here is so varied and exotic that you have to impress on your kids that it should stay where it is so that everyone can enjoy it.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Try to plan a Wednesday trip, and sign up -- as early as you can -- for Sprouts, a free workshop (including stories, songs, and art projects) for 3-5-year-olds.
Planning Notes
- Don't plan a visit at mealtime. Perhaps refreshingly, there is neither a food court nor a gift shop at the Garden; nor can you picnic here.
