Children's Museum of Denver Description
The crayon-colored exterior is your first clue that kids will love this museum. There are continually changing exhibits for just about every interest, from sports to firefighting to animals, and touching is not only allowed, but encouraged. There's also an art center with kid-sized easels, a magnetic alphabet wall, and a learning center where parents can brush up on the latest in child development. Best for kids ages 8 and under, the Children's Museum of Denver offers interactive attractions even for babies.
Kid Tips
Babies: The Center for the Young Child welcomes tiny tots with murals in muted tones, mobiles, and a glider for nursing moms.
Toddlers & Pre-K: You'll laugh as you watch your toddler run around, touching and exploring everything in sight.
Planning Notes
- So long, shoes. The infants' area, the Center for the Young Child, is a shoe-free zone, but socks are required, so pack some in the diaper bag if it's hot outside.
- Parking is usually free. Occasionally non-members have to pay to park during special events.
- Stroll down Eat Street. The museum cafe, Eat Street, offers healthful food kids actually like, such as turkey sandwiches, fruit, and yogurt.
