Expressions Art Studio Description
Kids and grown-ups alike love this hands-on, get messy art studio where they can dabble in photography, paint ceramics, sculpt clay, design jewelry, work with mosaics, plus lots more. Need an idea, or perhaps a creative muse? In-house artists are happy to offer input and encouragement. It's a great way to make your own souvenir, and to entertain kids on rainy days or while everyone else is skiing. While you're there, pick up a few kids' books and art supplies for the hotel room or the journey home.
Kid Tips
Babies: This is a great chance to make a "baby handprint" plaque.
School-Age Kids: Let kids create their own Whistler souvenirs. A Christmas tree ornament? A plate with a bear paw? Ice cream bowls? Let 'em go crazy.
Planning Notes
- Go early in your vacation. Some projects need to be fired or dried, which can take a day or two. If you run out of time, some items can be shipped.
- Wear old shirts. Although the paints wash out of clothing easily, smocks aren't available.
- Call ahead for info about workshops. Occasional workshops are scheduled, but they aren't advertised on the Web site.
