Ontario Place Description

From the squeals of little ones around Adventure Island to the dads racing older kids down the 90- foot-slide and the foam ball fights that have the whole family involved, Ontario Place is guaranteed to get them smiling. The largest soft play climbing structure in the country gets rave reviews (thumbs up to moms below), big kids think the motion simulator is "cool" for it's bumps and jolts and younger ones like the fact that there are dinosaurs in the movie inside. A splash park everyone can get wet in seals the deal.

Kid Tips

Toddlers & Pre-K: There are whole sections just for them. Check out the Creativity Centre, where writing on walls in encouraged, and the Power Wheels race track, where they can drive a jeep just their size.

School-Age Kids: Worried you might lose them in the crowd? Consider getting a park smart tracker wristband from guest services. They write your cell phone number on the band and if the child is lost they'll give you a ring.

Pre-Teens & Teens: They'll love the Cinesphere, which takes movie watching to a whole new level. Alligators, lions and skydivers become larger-than-life on the screen that wraps around the giant golf ball-like dome. The largest screen in the GTA also has some first-run movies.

Planning Notes

  • Buy online. A "Play all day pass" — which gives the kids unlimited rides, access to Soaker City, the bumper boats and more — is cheaper if you buy it online instead of the gate. If you're just planning to watch a grounds pass is probably all you need.
  • Rain Delay. Day pass holders get to come back for free if it rains for more than an hour continuously.
  • Look around. The theme park itself has lots to offer but the trail just outside its gates offers a great chance to walk , bike, jog or blade along the city's waterfront.
