CN Tower Description
From the atmospheric (you'll get wet!) motion experience log ride through to the glass elevator that takes you 147 building stories above the ground, the CN Tower feels more like a theme park than a radio antenna. Stand on the outer edge of a lookout deck for a game of "I spy" like no other as you pick out the places you've been and still have to visit. Kids love the ride up, the look out and the glass floor that feels like you're walking on air.
Kid Tips
Babies: Sit out the rocky ride in the simulation machine. While the constant jerking motion will cause older kids to squeal it may be too much for infants.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Shorter kids can get trapped in and around the legs of well-meaning adults on the ride up. Make sure they get a prime spot at the glass windows and point out the easy to miss view when they look down through the glass floor.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Eat here. At Horizons cafe the prices are reasonable and the 1/2-pound burger is one of the best in the city and the kids menu offers the perennial favourites while everyone gets a view of the city below.
Planning Notes
- Unique Photo Op. Splurge on a photo souvenir of the whole family standing on the glass floor. Shot with an overhead camera it's something you won't be able to replicate on your own.
- Overdress. It my be balmy down low but up here it can be a good 10 degrees cooler in the window. Have a sweater handy if you plan to step outside.
- Don't forget to look up. Check out the surrounding gardens at the south entrance base of the tower while taking an ant's eye view of the formidable building. 15 award-winning "community in bloom" winners garden designs are on display.
