Mega Parc at Galeries de la Capitale Description

This indoor amusement park is the antidote for a rainy day or a weary parent. Twenty rides ranging from bumper cars to ferris wheels and from video games to roller coasters fill a two-floor section of this mall. The area is dimly lit, but kids don't seem to notice. They're too busy trying to decide which big kid-turned pint-sized ride they're going to try out next! The mall offers a large food court and some of the areas most popular shops.

Kid Tips

Toddlers & Pre-K: There's a small area where they can roll and climb over soft building blocks in an enclosed area with parental supervision.

School-Age Kids: There's plenty to keep them happy here for hours. Take them with you when you buy the tickets, explain the points system and let them hand their tickets to the attendant so they aren't surprised when they're all out.

Pre-Teens & Teens: They'll cost more here than little kids, because most of the rides won't be of interest and video games work on quarters and $1 bills.

Planning Notes

  • Take the car. About a half hour outside of the downtown core, you're best driving out — there's plenty of free parking but be sure to avoid rush hour traffic.
  • Day Trip. Going when the local kids are in school means lower decibel levels and more access to the rides.
  • Cheap Thrills. Tickets to ride cost 50 cents per point and most rides require two to four points per child — $10 will easily get two children on a few rides each. Keep in mind that some rides will require children under a certain height to ride with an adult and you'll need tickets too. (Mini-golf and Bowling are priced separately.)
