Village Vacances Valcartier Description
When the history of Old Quebec overwhelms, Valcartier offers an escape. In the summer, it's the largest waterpark in Canada with enough water cannons, splash pads, slides and sprinklers to keep everyone happy. In the winter, it becomes the largest winter playground in North America; offering tubing, snowrafting, icy slides, a skating route and ice karting (go carts on ice) for anyone looking to challenge the winter weather. Your kids won't want to leave. Lucky for you there's overnight camping options.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Take them over to the Animal themed farm section of the park where slides and splashes are meant for kids aged 1- 6.
School-Age Kids: Visit the Web site ahead of time with your school-ager in mind. Many of the rides though available to them based on size may be challenging based on intensity. Taking a look ahead of time can ward off tiny tantrums in the park.
Pre-Teens & Teens: If they start complaining that the 110-foot Everest slide — the highest in North America — isn't enough thrill consider booking them in for an excursion at the Adventure area. (Water rafting, Hydrospeed boats and more.)
Planning Notes
- Plan your visit. The park is closed between March 29 and the first week of June, and again between the end of August and December.
- Take a breather. Save time between your water battles to check out the land based shows at the Family Entertainment Terrace: acrobats, costumed actors and interactive games await.
- Make it a two-fer. The Valcartier campground next door has more than 700 sites available and offers a variety of premium luxuries including a movie theatre, licenced convenience store and full-service restaurant.
