Science & Nature Museum
Centre des sciences de Montréal/Montreal Science Centre Description
A spacious, sprawling two-floor museum housed in converted sheds on Old Montreal's port, the Science Centre has literally hundreds of interactive eye-widening exhibits, lively science demonstrations (like the chemistry of fake snow), and an IMAX theater. Head upstairs to play mind soccer (move a ball into your opponent's court using the power generated by brain waves), draw upside down and backwards (this one confuses your neurons so much you can feel it), build a Roman arch held up by gravity and design, and learn about motion by tricking your sense of balance.
Kid Tips
Babies: Comfortable chairs overlooking the river are available for tired parents to feed babies in each exhibit hall, along with books about science to read to older siblings.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Best for kids over 6, as many of the exhibits may be too intense for the toddler set.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The interactive multimedia games where participants learn to solve problems and the futuristic exhibit about what science may make possible appeal to kids this age, as does "Snowbird," a collective interactive movie game.
