Parc olympique Québec/Quebec Olympic Stadium Description
You can't miss noticing Roger Taillibert's architectural feat as you enjoy other sights in Montreal. The Olympic Stadium, built for the 1976 games, is so unusual looking and intriguing that, if your family likes sports, you'll want to go on the 30-minute guided tour, which takes visitors through the Sports Center and the Olympic Stadium. Be sure to take the thrilling 20-story cable car ride on the world's most inclined tower up to the observatory for a breathtaking view of the entire city.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: The tour of the stadium is best for kids over 7, but toddlers will love the cable car ride to the observatory.
School-Age Kids: The exhibition about the 1976 Montreal Olympics on the floor level is great for kids who are into sports.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The sweeping view of the city helps put Montreal in perspective, and the UFO-like architecture intrigues this age group.
Planning Notes
- Take the Metro. The Viau stop puts you right at the Olympic Stadium.
- Buy a combination ticket. A visit to the tower costs less if you combine it with a trip to the Botanical Gardens or the Biodome.
