Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater Description
"The puppet show was my favorite," one 6-year-old girl said after being asked what she liked best about San Diego. The younger set will find the clever scenery and gorgeous puppets enthralling. With funny characters in elaborate puppet costumes who say silly things and throw stuff around, these shows are endlessly entertaining for toddlers and preschoolers.
Kid Tips
Babies: The puppeteers expect noisy crowds, so bring the baby.
Toddlers & Pre-K: If you live within driving distance, your preschooler can join Tico's Puppet Club and get birthday cards and puppet craft kits.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The morning shows might be a little babyish for older teens but you can take them to performances with more mature themes.
Planning Notes
- Don't go hungry. No food service is available in the theater.
- Good views. The stadium seating and the raised stage mean that every seat in the house is a good seat.
- It's next to a nice playground. Plan to spend some time at Pepper Grove Tot Lot, a great playground in Balboa Park.
