Palm Springs Village Fest Description
Mingle with locals, shop for souvenirs, enjoy lively street performers, and sample some of the desert's agricultural wonders at the year-round Thursday evening street fair. Palm Canyon Drive becomes car-free when the sun sets and pedestrians take over, strolling along the three long blocks between Baristo and Amado streets. Vendors selling kid favorites like handmade dolls and wooden toys are interspersed with farmers and food stands, jewelry designers, artists, and candy makers; many stores along the drive stay open late as well.
Kid Tips
Babies: The wide road affords ample room for navigating a stroller.
School-Age Kids: If the street fair vendors don't have the perfect souvenir, stop by Mr. G's Toys and Expressions (180 N. Palm Canyon Drive) to find action figures, stuffed animals, pool toys, dress-up clothes, T-shirts, and more.
Planning Notes
- Starts later in the summer. The fair begins at 6 p.m. except during the summer months of June to September, when it begins at 7 p.m.
- Difficult to park. Street parking is extremely limited, but many commercial lots are open for complimentary parking during the fair. Be mindful of posted lot closing signs, however -- some close well before the fair shuts down.
- Be green. Merchants provide bags for their merchandise, but the market encourages shoppers to bring reusable bags to carry their purchases.
