Knott's Soak City Description
Take the edge off the sweltering summer heat by cooling down at the aptly-named Soak City. Thrill seekers will beeline for the Surfrider Rapids, Sea Snake, and Pacific Spin, building up courage for the seven-story Tidal Wave Tower. Less adventurous kids will find plenty of wet diversions here, too, including the Gremmie Lagoon, Sunset River, and Kahuna's Beach House, a four-story funhouse of sprayers and slides. The whole family will enjoy Rip Tide Reef, the zero-entry pool that alternates between periods of gentle waves and perfectly flat, calm water.
Babies: Swim diapers are required for all infants entering the water.
School-Age Kids: Inner tubes are available throughout the park, but can be difficult to find during peak periods. Rent a personal tube for the day ($6) to avoid having to wait for one.
- Go online for savings. Print tickets in advance and save $5 off each adult admission ticket. Other offers include special afternoon rates and discounts for Southern California residents -- check the website.
- Stake out some shade. Make your family's base under the covered lounge chairs next to the wave pool or splurge on a private cabana rental, complete with water misters and lounge chairs ($95 and up per day).
- Complimentary life vests. Several rides have height restrictions and/or life vest requirements; life vests are readily available throughout the park.
- No outside food allowed. A variety of food can be purchased inside the park, but no outside food or drinks may be brought in (water bottles are permitted, however). Save money by packing lunch and leaving it in a cooler in the car; re-entry is permitted with a hand stamp.
