Swimming Description
Kids hoping to find a pool at the hotel will be blown away by Splashtopia, Rancho Las Palmas' water wonderland. With two 100-foot waterslides, a 425-foot lazy river, sandy beach, waterfall, Jacuzzi, fountains, and sprinklers, kids may never want to leave the nearly two-acre swimming zone. They may not have to -- lunch and dinner can be ordered from the casual Splash Grill; swimsuits, sunglasses, sunscreen, sand buckets, and other poolside essentials can be bought at the Swim Shop.
Kid Tips
Babies: The small beach, with its soft sand and zero-entry access, is perfect for introducing babies to the water.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Older kids hoping to have a more serene poolside experience will appreciate the more traditional pool that's separate from, but adjacent to, the lazy river.
Planning Notes
- Height restrictions. Kids must be 48" tall to ride the waterslides; those under 48" must be accompanied by an adult in the lazy river.
- Wristbands required. Admittance to Splashtopia is restricted to resort guests, and a wristband must be worn at all times. Secure it snuggly before swimming to ensure it doesn't come off in the water.
- Splurge on a cabana. Buy some shade by reserving a private poolside cabana, which includes several lounge chairs, a fruit plate, and bottled water (daily rates from $125).
- Just for grown-ups. An adults-only pool is located near the main building.
Just the Facts
Hours: Daily 7 a.m.-10 p.m. for the main pool; water slides and lazy river generally open later and close earlier -- confirm hours in advance.
Fees: Free for resort guests
Recommended Time: Half day
