Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum Description
This fun museum has its tongue firmly in cheek (or does it?) and kids will get a kick out of exhibits like the two-headed baby, 1,000-pound man and the gruesome guy who survived even though he had a stake through his head. There's also a little theater where you can watch clips of the man who can bug out his eyes (expect to hear a lot of "ewwws" throughout your visit), and the Indian gentleman who can write with both his hands and feet.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: The museum is best for this age group and older, who are more likely to enjoy the scariness and the "ick" factor than young ones.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Old (and skeptical) enough to see the humor in the exhibits here, pre-teens and teens will think this museum's pretty hip.
Planning Notes
- Go during the day. Daytime is probably the best time to check out this novelty museum since the area gets a little seedy at night.
- There's more. If the museum is a hit with your kids, they might also like the Guinness World Records Museum and the Hollywood Wax Museum, which are both just steps away.
- Grab a meal in the neighborhood. There are restaurants and quick eats at Hollywood & Highland and a California classic, Melâs Drive-In, around the corner.
