Venice Boardwalk Description
Along with the Hollywood sign, Grauman's Chinese Theater, and Pacific Coast Highway, Venice Boardwalk is synonymous with Los Angeles. Every walk of life flocks to this section of the Pacific Coast beach path to shop, stroll, bike, rollerblade, but most of all -- people watch. If you don't see the famous sequin bikini-wearing, guitar-playing duo, you can watch pickup games of volleyball on the beach while you shop for funky sunglasses. Or be part of the action and rent bikes, then snack on Jody Maroni's sausage dogs. Little kids will probably be bored, but older ones will enjoy the oddball sights.
Planning Notes
- Go on a Weekday. If you want to avoid crowds or get the most out of a rented bike, go when during the week when there are fewer tourists.
