Playground
Aidan's Place Description
This mega playground was designed to be accessible to wheelchair-bound children, so it's wide-open and very inventive. There are four different play areas -- one with sand -- that accommodate kids of varying size and skill. The swings, multiple slides and climbing apparatus keep kids running from one area to the next. If you're looking for a place to let them run loose as a reward for being good travelers (or want to tire them out so they'll be calm later in the day), this is the place. There's also a soccer field behind the park.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: This is the perfect place for them: there are lots of small-size features like play vehicles and low-to-the-ground slides, plus a great big sandbox.
School-Age Kids: They'll like all the climbing features.
Planning Notes
- Anytime is good to go. The playground is so big, it hardly ever gets too crowded so whenever you plan on going should be fine.
- There's more to do. Aidan's Place is part of a larger recreation center with basketball courts, baseball diamonds, a pool and other facilities.
- There is no food here. Pack snacks before you go.
- The upside of this park -- its size -- is also it's downside. It can be a little hard to watch more than one or two kids at a time if you're by yourself.
