Universal Studios Hollywood Description
It wouldn't be a trip to L.A. if your family didn't get a little taste of Hollywood magic. Every attraction at Universal Studios is related to a movie or TV show. Kids that thrive on scary stuff will love the Revenge of the Mummy indoor rollercoaster; "Simpsons" simulator ride; and Backdraft, a fiery pyrotechnics show based on the movie of the same name. There are, though, some tamer attractions for younger kids, including the studio tour (where you can see the sets of such shows as "Desperate Housewives" and "Big Fat Liar", animal actors attraction, and a "Curious George"-themed playground.

Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Some attractions might be a little over-the-top for them. Even the tram ride now has scary aspects. So if your kids do not like loud noises, there are limited options.
School-Age Kids: If your kids like action movies then they'll like the attractions here, but if they're not ready for all those explosions, you can just stick to the quieter attractions like Nickelodeon Blast Zone.
Pre-Teens & Teens: They'll love the scarier rides, and make sure to stop by the suped-up City Walk, one of L.A.'s most popular pedestrian malls.
Planning Notes
- Spend the dough. Consider buying a 'front-of-the-line'' pass. The park can get really crowded and the lines can be long.
- Leave the prom dress at home. Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet, since a lot of the rides involve water.
- There are plenty of food options. The park has no shortage of fast food places in the park to eat (some serving relatively healthy food), but you might also want to try Just the Facts
