Kidspace Children's Museum Description
The fun starts when you walk in the door of this interactive, indoor-outdoor museum. You'll pass through mirrored tunnels and walls made of giant pencils, and visit a "diner" where you can learn about insects' eating habits. Next it's over to the fossil dig and animal burrows. Everything (the giant flowers, the earthquake-maker) is touchable and there's considerable room to climb.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: There's a playground designed with developing bodies in mind; and for budding Picassos there's a daily roster of art projects.
School-Age Kids: Outside, kids can crawl through caves, clamber up a spiderweb, and explore a wildlife pond.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Skip this destination; it's best for kids 10 and under.
Planning Notes
- Schedule your visit in the afternoon.School groups come in the morning. Also, check the schedule: Kidspace often has special events and daily story and music times.
- The Rose Bowl is right nearby. The museum sometimes closes when thereâs a UCLA football game so, again, check the schedule before you go.
- Grab a bite. Thereâs an onsite Wolfgang Puck café with lots of kid-friendly options. But Kidspace is also located in a beautiful park so feel free to bring a picnic.
- Dress kids appropriately. Thereâs lots of water outdoors.
