Fort Charlotte Description
A real castle complete with drawbridge, moat, dungeons, underground tunnels, and 43 cannons, Fort Charlotte is the most fun of the three forts in Nassau. Costumed guides lead informative tours through the facility (adults are $5, kids 12 and under $2). A bonus is the picturesque view of Paradise Island from the top. Be prepared, though; once kids see this view, they will pester you to go to Atlantis.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Only kids over the age of 5 can swim with the dolphins, but toddlers and preschoolers can participate in the dolphin encounters. Children 3 and under are free if accompanied by an adult.
School-Age Kids: The ramparts, drawbridge, and other features are perfect for younger kids still enthralled by fairytales, while the history lessons of the tour will be interesting to older kids learning about eighteenth century Europe.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Older kids won't find it exciting enough to lure them away from the water. Skip it.
