Powerboat Adventures Description
Budding speed-demons won't soon forget this day, which starts out with a 38-mile boat ride to Excuma Cays that's straight out of a James Bond movie and doesn't slow down from there. Kids get up close and personal with three-foot iguanas, swim with stingrays, and feed sharks; just a few yards off the beach is some of the most spectacular reef life in the islands, with corals, sponges, and abundant tropical fish.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: This trip is probably not the best activity for kids under 3, who will get wiggly on the somewhat long ride.
School-Age Kids: Kids 6 to 12 will love this trip, although timid swimmers may elect to take a pass on some of the activities.
Planning Notes
- Take it easy afterward. This will be a highlight of the trip, but it's a long, tiring day, and kids (and parents) won't have much energy afterward. Don't plan this activity for a day when you have dinner reservations or theater tickets; you'll just want to relax at the hotel over a simple dinner.
- A spectacular sight. Excuma Cays, one of the most beautiful locations in the Bahamas, is protected by the Bahamas National Trust.
