Snorkel and Shark Adventure at Stuart Cove Description

The Snorkel Bahamas adventure offered by Stuart Cove is one of the most popular tours on the island, and for good reason. Not only does the well-trained crew take kids to some of the best snorkeling reefs off the island, they get to participate in shark feedings, too (weather permitting). There is nothing—absolutely nothing—that compares to the hair-raising thrill of dangling from a rope in the open sea with a school of sharks swimming hungrily directly below your feet. This is definitely a "don't try this at home" experience, and it's exciting enough that your stock will go up, even with hard-to-please preteens and teens.

Kid Tips

Toddlers & Pre-K: This is not the adventure for little ones, as the boat ride is too long and confining and the swimming too challenging. Leave under-5s at home.

School-Age Kids: Wondering if this trip is right for your child? Kids are ready for this activity if they're reasonably strong swimmers and not water-phobic.

Pre-Teens & Teens: Adventurous kids will be exhilarated by the colorful reef life and the excitement of the shark feeding.

Planning Notes

  • Bring boating and sun supplies. You'll need sunscreen, sunhats, shades, and water-ready shoes for this trip. You'll also want a camera, but bring it in a waterproof bag for safekeeping. Pick-ups and drop-offs are provided from hotels and most condominiums; don't be late, though, or you'll miss the ride and it's a long way to the cove.
