Desert Botanical Garden Description
Located within Papago Park, this beautiful botanical garden has stunning plants and flowers as well as special exhibits. Children's program activities, like weekend face-painting, are included in the admission price and are supervised by the head of the garden's nature preschool program, which runs for three weekly 90-minute sessions in spring and fall. One exhibit you won't want to miss is the butterfly habitat.

Kid Tips
Babies: Children under 3 are admitted free.
School-Age Kids: Kids' Corners, held every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. except during summer months, are engaging nature seminars for children (and each child leaves with a souvenir).
Planning Notes
- Park it. The garden is surrounded by Papago Park, which is filled with hiking trails, rock formations, and a lake where kids can fish.
- Munch a bunch. You can stop for lunch at the Patio Café, which serves salads, sandwiches, and sweets and has a few children's menu items.
- Visit the plant shop. Add a bit of the desert to your own home and garden. Items for sale include cactus dish gardens, seeds, pottery, and bird feeders.
