Henderson's Wharf Inn Description
Reserve a seaside room in this 1890s converted tobacco warehouse, and you'll have just the right mix of comfortable surroundings, understated elegance, water views, proximity to attractions, and peace and quiet (the building's walls are 3-feet thick). Located in the Fells Point area, it offers accessibility to Baltimore's Inner Harbor (the Water Taxi is just around the corner) and a welcoming, family-friendly neighborhood.
Planning Notes
- Take your pick. The 28-room hotel offers four types of rooms (all on the ground floor): seaside rooms face a dock on the bay; cobblestone rooms face the street; marina rooms have a partial view of the marina and the parking lot; and garden rooms face an internal courtyard garden. Seaside rooms are the most in-demand -- reserve at least three months in advance for a summer trip.
- Dining options. The hotel does not have an on-site bar or restaurant, but is within walking distance of several (Red Star, Kooper's, and Slainte come highly recommended).
- The wine's on the house. Visitors are welcomed to the hotel with a complimentary bottle of wine. If you prefer a specific varietal, just ask -- they have a handful to choose from, including sparkling wine.
- No suites. Adjoining rooms are available, however.
- Nice spread. Don't miss the complimentary continental breakfast, which includes gourmet pastries, hot items, seasonal fruit, and freshly squeezed juices.
- Room to run. A small playground is located a few short blocks away on Wolfe Street.
- Swim elsewhere. The hotel does not have a pool.
