The Westin St. John Resort & Villas Description
If you want to guarantee a kid-focused vacation, try the Westin on St. John. The amenities are great, with a floating climbing wall and floating trampolines. There's also a Director of Fun who arranges daily activities for kid's camp attendees, from baking cookies with the chef to nature walks. Resort hotels in the VI are all very family-friendly, and most have kid's camps -- but only the Westin accepts children as young as three years old (potty training required), and it alone offers a night camp, from 6 to 10 p.m. That said, it does come with a price.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: The Westin's beach is pleasant, but by Virgin Islands standards not the most beautiful. Kids, however, will swoon when they see the water gizmos that await them. And, don't think it's just little ones scaling that floating climbing wall!
Planning Notes
- St. John is small and quiet. You may want to rent a car for one day and tour St. John to experience its eye-popping vistas, with time for stopping at gorgeous beaches. Visit a different beach every day, but one day of touring is sufficient. For those eager to absorb as much local color as possible, you'll have to catch a ferry to St. Thomas, and then use taxis. Car ferries also run between the islands, which costs approximately $40 round trip.
