Zion Lodge Description
Location, location, location. Perfectly situated in the middle of Zion National Park in a valley near the Virgin River, this no-nonsense, no-frills lodge offers cabins and plain, functional rooms. Ranger talks, trail heads, and a wide front lawn with a big shade tree (perfect for a game of Frisbee, kite flying, and toddler romps) make this a convenient place for the family to stay.
Planning Notes
- Bring lawn toys. The lodge doesn't provide them. Don't fret if you forget or don't have room in your luggage—most other visitors are happy to share theirs.
- Reserve online. Reservations are accepted up to 13 months in advance. Though it is often booked, the lodge advises checking back frequently to inquire about cancellations.
- Skip the restaurant. It's the only restaurant around and is often extremely crowded, and unfortunately it's overpriced, has uneven service, and lackluster food. Better to hop the shuttle and eat in Springdale.
