Kemah Boardwalk Inn Description
It's the best noise machine ever: Kids here doze off to sleep each night to the sounds of a miniature train (the sound is surprisingly soothing, even for grown-ups). All of the rooms at the bright and airy inn overlook the Boardwalk action, which makes this small hotel feel like living at a theme park.
Planning Notes
- Reserve early. The hotel is one of the cutest properties around, it's the only one at the Boardwalk, and it has only 52 rooms. In season, getting a room is a challenge -- reserve well ahead.
- Reserve the extra beds, too. Cots and rollaways are available, but are almost as hard to get as the rooms. If you need one, ask for it when you make your room reservation.
- No room service. Guests must dine at one of the many area restaurants. The on-site café (serving breakfast only) opens at 7 a.m.
- Bay view vs. plaza view. All rooms have balconies, some overlooking the entertainment area, others over the rides. Be aware that live music on weekends plays in the plaza until late.
