Hotel Elliott Description
Right downtown and surrounded by noteworthy shops and restaurants, the Hotel Elliot was built in 1924 and continues to have turn-of-the-century charm. Kids will love exploring the rooftop garden (food and beverages welcome), which has gas fireplaces that can be lighted on request. Grownups will appreciate the complimentary glass of house wine during evening happy hour, and everyone in the family will enjoy the heated stone floors in every bathroom.
Planning Notes
- Reserve early. The hotel gets booked at least one month in advance in the summer and on holiday weekends.
- Ask for a room on the west side. The Sunday Market takes place right in front of the hotel, and rooms on the east side might get an unexpected wake-up call when the market opens.
- Extra bedding. Portable cribs are available at no charge, and certain rooms can accommodate roll-a-way beds (for an extra charge of $10).
- Free wine reception. Families can enjoy a wine reception from Tuesday through Saturday between 6 and 7 p.m., which includes one free glass of house wine for the adults. There's soda (it's not free) for the kids.
