Grand View Lodge Description
Anyone with kids knows how difficult it can be to cram them all into a hotel room, but you won't have that problem at the Grand View Lodge just north of Brainerd. The lodge offers several different family-friendly choices of accommodations, like two- and three-bedroom cottages, town homes, and cabins. The beach areas and bright blue lake are very clean and inviting, and for colder days, there's a kid-friendly indoor pool with a water slide. During summer months, the Grand View Kids' Club offers activities for kids ages 3-6, while the Adventure Club serves kids ages 7-12 during the daytime hours. There are also scheduled "kid's night out" activities in the evenings.
Planning Notes
- It's unplugged. As a laid-back, get-back-to-nature kind of destination, don't be surprised if the bedrooms don't contain TVs. On the other hand, the resort is dotted with play equipment and there's ample space to play outside as well as in. So who needs TV?
- Babysitters come to you. The kids' camp can't accommodate children under 3 years old, but the lodge does have a list of pre-screened babysitters you can call who will come to your lodge or cabin.
- Guest passes available. Families not staying at the Lodge can buy day passes to use resort facilities. This can change depending on what you're looking to do -- lodge guests will get first dibs if there are space constraints -- so call ahead to verify availability.
