Casamagna Cancun Resort Marriott Description
With four specialty restaurants, a Kids Club that offers day-long activities as well as special events (sand castle competitions and cooking classes with a chef trained in San Sebastian, Spain, to mention just two), a magnificent beachfront, and a pool bigger than your house, this is not your grandma's Marriott. Instead, it's a hotel so palatial and extensive that you might just come here and decide not to venture into Cancun at all. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable and, despite the luxurious digs, children feel welcome in ways large and small.
Kid Tips
Babies: The expansive infinity pool has a shallow end and a shallow ledge around it just right for babies.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Little onies will enjoy the white sand beach and warm blue water. Kids Club also has a climbing structure and toddler-sized picnic tables outside.
School-Age Kids: Children 8 and older can learn to scuba dive at the J.M. Marriott next door (Casamagna's more upscale sister hotel). There are also mother-daughter manicures, and pedicures offered at the spa.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The palatial architecture, gorgeous pool (where you can buy a drink without getting out of the water) and nightly live salsa music will intrigue even the most indifferent teen.
Planning Notes
- Leave your crib and car seat at home. The hotel provides guests with amenities for children. If you let them know ahead of time, they will arrange to have a crib, linens, and a baby mobile brought to your room for free. A high chair, car seat, bottle warmer, and microwave are available to rent for an extra fee.
- There's a nanny service. Red Cross-certified nannies are available to babysit for $15/hour.
- Check the Kids Club schedule. A trained chef does cooking classes with kids outside on Sundays and Wednesdays. Kids Club, which costs $35 extra a day, also offers salsa dance lessons, piñata making, and sand castle contests.
Just the Facts
Hours: Daily 11 a.m. to midnight
Fees: $159-$400 night depending on the season and the room. Family packages, which include breakfast, Kids Club, and free food off the kids' menu at all the restaurants, start at $269/night for 2 adults and 2 children.
Reviews of Casamagna Cancun Resort Marriott
Not a fun filled family place
By ellecpr May 28, 2012
What we loved:
Clean and well kept
What we didn't love:
Boring, no activities for families
The CasaMagna is a nice looking hotel but not the perfect setting for a fun filled famiy vacation. I was disappointed with what I found considering Disney had recommended it. I was expecting fun and activities but instead found a quiet place where older people didnt appreciate the kids pressence. Now, this is a very nice hotel if you are looking for a quiet place in Cancun at a good value. However, my 5 yr old and my 8 yr old demanded fun activities that were nowhere to be found here. Even I was hoping for some nice water aerobics, and they were not offered during our stay. The kids club people are nice with the kids, but 15 per hour, in my case, 30 dollars per hour, is too much for an arts and crafts mini class. We had to go elsewhere for fun...consider staying in Playa Del Carmen, where everything is walking distance and there is plenty to do around the 5th Ave with a nice calm beach. My two cents.
