New England Country Inn at Jiminy Peak Description
What you admire when you look out your window in the morning depends entirely on your age and disposition. Parents will relish the mountain view; kids will focus solely on the Alpine Super Slide. The hotel is admittedly a little out of the way, but spacious suites offer kitchenettes, the pool is great, and it's economical (a rarity during summer in the Berkshires), especially midweek.
Planning Notes
- Room with a view. Not all rooms face the mountain—some look at the parking lot. Avoid surprises by asking when you make your reservation.
- Room for big families. Larger groups can opt for the two- and three-bedroom units.
- On-site groceries. A small store offers just the basics; for more complete and economical shopping, go to the big grocery store in nearby North Adams.
- On-site dining. John Harvard's Restaurant and Brewery is on the hotel grounds. An additional restaurant is just outside the mountain gate, and numerous other eateries are located within about a 20-minute drive.
- Check online. The resort sometimes offers deals on certain rooms and special rates for mountain access.
